EDUCATION
- Declaring a state of emergency in the education sector to prioritize financing and investment in infrastructure, and conducting of a comprehensive Needs Assessment to report gaps and critical deficits that will help in developing the State Strategic Plan for Education.
- Grant Aiding of selected Faith-Based Secondary schools (Missionary Schools) and Schools for People Living With Disabilities (PWDs) to improve quality and access to education in the state.
- Resuscitation of the Government Technical College Bukuru and the introduction of two more Technical Colleges in Pankshin and Shendam to generate marketable skills that will target contributing 10% of the state GDP.
- Grading of secondary schools into Tiers 1, 2 and 3 and equipping the science laboratories, workshops and libraries of the Tiers 1 and 2.
- Reviewing of the curriculum and teaching methods to integrate effective communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity as targeted output from students.
- Recruiting of additional teachers, Training, retraining and upskilling of teaching personnel in all strata in accordance with the new curriculum and teaching methods.
- Constant and timely payment of all counterparty funds to enable the state access funds to support and develop Education infrastructure and training of teachers.
- Renovation and equipping of Primary, Secondary Schools and State owned higher Institutions
- Initiate special foreign scholarship as incentive for the study of science and technical based courses
- Improve on Supervision, monitoring and evaluation of both public and private schools in the state to enforce standards and quality assurance. Creating a tracking system of the ecosystem and regular reporting on key Performance Indices
- Establishment of Plateau Education Management Information System (PEMIS) as an innovative online real time education data management tool
- Ensure gender and social inclusion of vulnerable groups in the education programmes.
